Last year we decided to plan a short getaway to Canterbury. From Holland we drove by car to Calais, France and took the ferry, wich brought us to to Dover in about 1,5 hour. Christmas in Canterbury is just lovely. These days, this old, pittoresk town is even prettier than usual. In this blog I’ll share the 4 best dairyfree restaurants I found.

1. Fancy and dairyfree Café de Soleil

This restaurant is something you don’t find very easily around the english countryside. Cafe de Soleil offers exclusive and tasty dishes, mostly prepared by regional products. Vegan and vegetarian food is fully integrated in their menu. Examples? Aubergine with ricotta en mint ravioli or roast butternut squash pizza.  Already feel like going? 2. Oscar & Bentley’s Bistro

In one of Canterbury’s beautiful and historical buildings, you’ll find quality food with an
outstanding presentation. On their menu there’s both seasonal and classic dishes from this region,
If you’re lookig for some fine dining, and you prefer eating dairyfree or glutenfree, this is your place. 

3. 100% Dairyfree Kitchen at The Veg Box

Besides it’s location in London, The Veg Box can also be found at the centre of Canterbury. This plant-based restaurant creates tasty dishes based on fresh and seasonal products. Sustainability is their focus, they want their food to both service your body and the planet. With a guranteed 100% dairyfree kitchen, youre sure to be in a safe place here. Good to know; dogs are very welcome!

4. Canterbury Tails – Cat Cafe

Fancy a dairyfree lunch, accompanied by some furry friends? Canterbury Tails is the right place . The owners of this restaurant are vegan themselves. Around the holiday season they also offer, as they say ‘cat-tastic christmas gifts‘. On top of all, this cafe is situated just next to the Cathedral of Canterbury.  Wich is also worth a visit!
